Cathedral Pines & Mohawk Mountain, Cornwall Connecticut
Let me start off by saying anyone who subscribes to onerambleATatime via an RSS reader or email subscription make sure you click on the headline to bring you over to the site so you can view the videos and pictures. I know this sounds like a no brainer but I have been getting a few emails from my less tecky readers wondering where they could see the videos. OK now back to our programming.
Great day to post a hike since we are snowed in once again in Connecticut. Today's hike is Cathedral Pines & Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall, CT. I took this hike this past October on an absolutely perfect fall day. It was the epitome of the New England fall as you will see from the pictures and vids. Mohawk Mountain is probably getting some good use now since it is Connecticut's largest ski area in the winter. That's not really saying much since it has about 18 or so trails. In the fall though it is a great hike up to the summit which is about 1,683 feet up. The amazing thing about this hike is the variety. You start off in a forest of monster pine trees, walk across some country roads, and then through some animal reserve where you will meet all kinds of creatures! Finally you make your way up Mohawk Mountain and trust me the views don't disappoint. I took a lot of pics and vids on this hike so I am breaking it down to a three part series. Starting off are the still shots. Following that will be Video Diary #1 and then Video Diary #2. Ramble on and enjoy!!
