Happy Holidays fellow Ramblers. Today's hike, Sugarloaf South in Garrison, NY just a few mins up the road from Bear Mountain. To be honest this wasn't the greatest of hikes. The trail was not marked well, not many highlights on the path, and the views were a bit obstructed. There is a really cool Mansion at the top of the mountain called Castle Rock, only problem is that it's on private property and you can't get close to it at all. If you are up in the Hudson Highland area there are better hikes to check out but I am still glad I was able to go and check another hike off the list. It's an in and out 3 mile hike and should take you about 2 1/2 hours. When you are close to the top it gets very steep and if you look off to to the skyline you get a good view of West Point.
